Bartholomay beer bottle from Rochester NY I found at the bottom of a local creek. It’s one of 3 in my collection. The flowing water kept algae from growing on it. It dates to before 1920, before prohibition came into effect in my state.

What soda bottles looked like between 1880/1912. These are called Hutchinson bottles. The metal part is the stopper which would have had a rubber gasket which sealed the bottle and kept the carbonation. They were replaced by the bottle cap.
